I was born and raised in Colorado and came from a very artistically inclined family.  I can remember nights watching my mother draw fashion figures for the Denver newspapers.  Sometimes I was asked to model the clothing she would bring home.  Her brother now resides in New York and has a prolific art career.  Although my childhood interests and activities largely revolved around music, I began working with photography in my 20's and had my first showing at a local bank. Now, after many years of experimenting and stretching my own artistic creativity, I have settled into the challenges of montage and abstract representations.  I am most satisfied when I have created pieces that do not resemble traditional photographic images.  So many times photography or anything remotely related to a digital creation have been  labeled the "orphaned child" of the art world.    It is truly my intent and enjoyment to present photographs that do not appear like photographs.  I guess even I have a "love - hate relationship" with my medium. I do love when the viewer questions how my pieces were created. I recently had the honor to study advanced art concepts and presentation in residence with the renowned Metropolitan New York artist Howard Nathenson and his equally prolific sculptor wife, Elaine Lorenz.  Many of the creations you see are the products of thoughtful object placement , spatial arrangement and color combinations learned from these seasoned artists.  I hope you enjoy these exciting and novel art creations.
